The Sheridan County Public Library System has a position vacancy for a Library Director. This is a full-time, benefitted position located in Sheridan, Wyoming. The Director plans, manages, and directs the operations, programs, services, personnel and facilities of the Sheridan County Public Library System.
Sheridan County encompasses 2,527 square miles and has a population of 31,646. Sheridan is the county seat with approximately 19,124 residents. The Library System consists of a main library in Sheridan (Fulmer Library) with three branches located in Clearmont, Story, and Ranchester. Each location has recently undergone a remodel project or in the process of completing a remodel in 2023-24. The current operational budget is $1,658,000 which comes from several different sources including Sheridan County General Fund, One Percent Optional Tax (sales tax), dedicated endowments, and fundraising efforts. There are 38 employees (16 full-time and 22 part-time).
The Library Director works under the direction of the Sheridan County Public Library System Board of Trustees who are appointed by the Sheridan County Commission.
- Qualifications: Masters in Library Science, and five years experience overseeing public library operations OR an equivalent combination of education and experience which
ensures the ability to perform the essential functions of the position. - Salary Range: $75,000 to $78,000, commensurate with experience. Full benefit package. FLSA Exempt.
