New Leadership for LEAD
The Wyoming Library Association’s (WLA) LEAD Interest Group welcomes Lori Sponhour as Chair and Anita Marple as Chair-Elect.

Lori Sponhour just celebrated 25 years of service with the Laramie County Library System (LCLS), and worked in circulation and reference prior to her present role in cataloging, playing a supervisory role for various staff. She enjoys all aspects of being a librarian—especially interacting with patrons and staff. She has been involved with WLA for most of her 25 years at LCLS, but has recently taken a more active role with LEAD. She served as the LEAD Vice Chair last year and is honored to serve as this year’s LEAD Chair.

Anita Marple has been a member of the Fremont County Library System (FCLS) staff for fifteen years. She began her career there in Children’s Services in 2011, became the Lander Library Manager in 2018, and has served as the FCLS Director since 2021. She holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology with an emphasis in cultural anthropology and a master’s degree in leadership, and completed the American Library Association’s Support Staff Certification program.

LEAD looks forward to these ladies’ leadership and the opportunities ahead. We also extend our appreciation to outgoing Chair David Brown for his service and contributions to LEAD.

LEAD Mentorship Program Now Accepting Applications

Mentees benefit from encouragement, advice, and professional insight, while mentors have the opportunity to share their experiences and help support the growth of fellow library professionals.
