Did you know the Wyoming State Library has five coloring books available for patrons to print, color, and use to learn more about some of the amazing inventions people in Wyoming have created?
These fun and informative resources are the result of a collaboration between Anne Kuipers, WSL State Publications Librarian, and Joanne Pruitt, WSL Youth Services Specialist.
“We created these coloring books as a way to make Wyoming inventions available to everyone and to introduce kids to the idea of innovation,” said Anne. “There are so many cool things that people have made in our state.”
So far, five coloring books have been compiled from historical documents about inventions patented by Wyomingites, including Clothing, Outdoor Fun, Toys, Transportation, and Western. Patrons are encouraged to download and print copies for their own use and learning.
“Other PTRC’s have made coloring books, but they’ve all been based on national patents or for colleges,” said Anne, commenting on the novelty of the project. “This was a fun way to show off the WSL’s awesome Inventors collection.”
