WLA Announces 2024 Award Winners and Grant Recipients

The Wyoming Library Association Awards/Grants Committee announced this year’s recipients at a reception during the organization’s recent “Bound Together” 2024 conference, held in Casper from October 4-6. Here are this year’s winners:

Lifetime Achievement Award

Chris Van Burgh-Wyoming State Library/University of Wyoming Libraries (retired)
This award recognizes the achievements and accomplishments of a library employee throughout their library career, including service to the public and/or library community. It is also meant to reflect the goals of the Wyoming Library Association and the library profession as a whole.

Outstanding Hero/Heroine Award

Cody Pardners-Park County Library
This award provides an opportunity for WLA to recognize an outstanding person or group whose hard work has made a difference to a Wyoming library within the last two years.

Outstanding Librarian Award

Melissa Snider-Munger Mountain Elementary School, Teton County School District
This award recognizes the significant and outstanding accomplishments of a library employee in the past year, including service to the public and/or library community. It is also meant to reflect the goals of WLA and the library profession as a whole.

Nora Van Burgh Grant

Kennedy Penn-O’Toole-Albany County Public Library
This grant provides funding assistance to those who wish to enhance their effectiveness as library employees through additional educational experience.
