Wyoming Law Librarians Hold Virtual Office Hours for Library Staff

Feb 10, 2025

Would you like to gain information and insight to better support patrons’ legal research needs and to broaden access to justice opportunities in Wyoming? This spring, two Wyoming law librarians will be offering an opportunity for Wyoming librarians and staff to learn and ask questions regarding legal research.

Beginning March 5, Tracey McCormick, Assistant Law Librarian at the University of Wyoming College of Law and Matt Swift, State Law Librarian for Wyoming Judicial Branch will hold a series of legal research virtual office hours for public librarians and staff. Office hours will be held 10:00-11:00 a.m. (MST) every first and third Wednesday of the month. (See dates below.)

No appointment is necessary, and Matt and Tracey will be available to answer all your legal research questions to better support your patrons. Rather than pointing you to resources, they are happy to walk you through their thought processes and free legal resources for patrons who are experiencing family law issues, have a landlord-tenant dispute, or are wondering about local ordinances and state statutes. Although they are not licensed attorneys and cannot provide legal advice, both law librarians love providing greater access to justice in Wyoming. All Wyoming librarians and library staff are welcome. Summer hours will depend on spring participation.
Dates for spring office hours will include:
  • March 5
  • March 19
  • April 2
  • April 16
  • May 7
  • May 21

This Zoom link can be used to enter each virtual office hours meeting. No passcode will be necessary.
