Library professionals from across Wyoming met at Casper College in Casper, Wyoming on June 13 and 14 for the WYLD Annual Meeting.

On Thursday morning, participants enjoyed greeting their fellow librarians and getting general updates and information. After lunch, they had the opportunity to participate in their choice of several different breakout sessions regarding cataloging, Aspen, BLUEcloud, Overdrive, Serials, WorldShare and MessageBee taught by members of the Wyoming State Library staff. On Friday, the WYLD Network Business Meeting was held, as well as a Q and A session with the WSL.

“I’ve been attending WYLD network annual meetings for over 20 years and I always meet someone new, and this year was no exception! We had over 75 people at the meeting, representing 26 different libraries,” said Desiree Saunders, the WSL’s WYLD Program Manager. “The event was a perfect occasion for our two new WYLD Office members, Nick and Shaylee, to introduce themselves as well. State Library staff and Kate Mutch put together an amazing variety of training sessions and I heard many compliments on their efforts.”

Nick Marlin, Shantry Miller, Desiree Saunders, Cori Hundley, and Shaylee Krueger provided valuable updates and information at the WYLD Annual Meeting.

Other WSL staff present at the event included the State Librarian, Abby Beaver; the WYLD Office Staff, including Cori Hundley the WSL’s Systems Librarian, Nick Marlin, the WSL’s Library Systems Administrator, Shantry Miller, the WSL’s Bibliographic Services Librarian, Shaylee Krueger, the WSL’s Resource Sharing Librarian; and Katelyn Wittenborn, the WSL’s Digital Initiatives Librarian.

“It was a pleasure to connect and learn with colleagues around the State at the WYLD Annual Meeting,” said Rachel Crocker, WYLD Network President. We have an amazing consortium of libraries that are a great example of cooperation across the State. We are grateful to the State Library for putting together a day of robust training for Wyoming Library staff.”
