Wyoming State Library Closed for Martin Luther King Jr. Day/Equality Day

The Wyoming State Library will be closed on Monday, January 19, in observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day/Equality Day. Regular hours will resume on Tuesday, January 20.

Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., noted civil rights leader, was born nearly 95 years ago on Monday, January 15, 1929. Access numerous digitized primary sources about Dr. King on the Library of Congress’ “Today in History” database at https://www.loc.gov/item/today-in-history/january-15/.

The Wyoming Legislature designated the third Monday in January as a legal holiday, Martin Luther King, Jr./Wyoming Equality Day in 1990. You can find more information about this legislation by locating the 1990 Session Laws, Chapter 21, on WSL’s Wyoming Legislation database at https://wyominglegislation.wyo.gov/.
