Tekla Slider

This week, Tekla Slider joined the Wyoming State Library staff as the Federal Documents Librarian. She will manage the federal documents collection and serve as the point person for intellectual property issues such as patents, trademarks, and copyright.

“The federal documents are so important from a historical perspective,” Tekla said. “That’s one of the things that drew me to this position. The other was the people. I’ve worked with many of the people at the state library, and they’ve been great. I’m looking forward to being part of the team.”

Tekla holds a Bachelor of Arts in arts in history and political science from Wesleyan College in Georgia. She earned a Master’s in Elementary Education from University of Missouri in Kansas City and a Master’s of Library and Information Science from Kent State University in Ohio.

Prior to coming to the State Library, she was the librarian for the F.E. Warren Air Force Base. After that library closed late in 2014, she worked for Laramie County Library System in Cheyenne as a circulation assistant and shelver.

“Her work with bringing F.E. Warren into the WYLD network makes her a great fit,” said Jamie Markus, Interim State Librarian, “and her knowledge of Wyoming libraries will let her hit the ground running. We’re excited to bring her on staff.”

Tekla may be reached at tekla.slider@wyo.gov or 307-777-6955.
