WLA Announces 2023 Award Winners and Grant Recipients

Wyoming Library Association logoThe Wyoming Library Association Awards/Grants Committee announced this year’s recipients at a reception during the organization’s recent “Bound Together” 2024 conference, held in Casper from October 4-6.

Lifetime Achievement Award

Terri Lesley (Campbell County Library)
This award recognizes the achievements and accomplishments of a library employee throughout their library career, including service to the public and/or library community. It is also meant to reflect the goals of the Wyoming Library Association and the library profession as a whole.

Outstanding Hero/Heroine Award

Conrrado Saldivar (Natrona County Library)
Caitlin White (Albany County Public Library)
This award provides an opportunity for WLA to recognize an outstanding person or group whose hard work has made a difference to a Wyoming library within the last two years.

Outstanding Librarian Award

Shelley Hunsaker (Lincoln County School District #2)
This award recognizes the significant and outstanding accomplishments of a library employee in the past year, including service to the public and/or library community. It is also meant to reflect the goals of WLA and the library profession as a whole.

Outstanding Library Award

Big Piney Branch Library
This award recognizes a significant special project completed within the last two years. The staff, library board, community, or people served must all have been involved in the work for which recognition is sought.

Nora Van Burgh Grant

Paula Kelting (Campbell County Library)
Elizabeth Palmer (Albany County Public Library)
This grant provides funding assistance to those who wish to enhance their effectiveness as library employees through additional educational experience.

Debbie Iverson MPLA Scholarship Grant

Betsy O’Neil (Natrona County Library)
Angela Jordan (Teton County Library)
This grant provides funding for library staff throughout the state to attend the MPLA Leadership Institute.
