Wyoming library directors from across the state gathered in beautiful Jackson, Wyoming, for the annual Wyoming Directors Workshop.
Last month, library directors from across Wyoming gathered in Jackson, Wyoming, for several days of collaborative work and networking. During the October 16-18 event, twenty-two directors participated in instruction and conversations that explored visions and actions for community engagement, developed their self-awareness as leaders, enhanced their understanding of tools to effectively navigate change, and leveraged the experience in the group to promote greater collective efficacy. Rose Hendricks of River Story Coaching provided training on Day 1 of the event and participants received instruction from Conrrado Saldivar and Darcy Lipp-Acord on the topic of Law for Librarians on Day 2.
The Directors Retreat is held annually and is an opportunity for both seasoned and new Wyoming library directors to connect with other Wyoming library directors, gain new knowledge, and ask and discuss important questions. First time Wyoming Director’s Workshop participants this year included Cass Kvenild and Christopher Murry.
“The annual Library Director’s Workshop is easily one of the most beneficial gatherings for Wyoming library directors,” said Abby Beaver, Wyoming State Librarian. “We have the focused time to discuss and troubleshoot issues, participate in workshops geared to our unique needs, and most importantly, we have the opportunity to bond, connect, and learn from one another.”
