FDLP Academy: Confronting Misinformation

Mar 3, 2017

Newspapers, social media, 24/7 cable news, Google…information is everywhere, and it can feel overwhelming. On March 27, beginning at noon MDT, the Federal Depository Library Program (FDLP) is offering a free webinar, “Confronting Misinformation: How librarians can assist patrons in the digital information age.” Registration is required.

In this webinar, Barbara Alvarez, FDLP Communications and Information Specialist, will share ideas about how librarians can help patrons navigate the sometimes rocky information waters. This webinar will also examine how information access and creation has changed, where it is going, and how librarians can take steps to ensure that their patrons access credible resources.

The Wyoming State Library is one of eight Federal Depository Libraries in Wyoming that offer assistance with accessing information in U.S. government information sources.
