Grades 4-8 Letters About Literature Deadline January 11

Dec 11, 2015

LAL

With the Christmas break coming up for students, we want to offer a quick reminder that the Letters About Literature deadline for grades 4-8 is coming up a mere month away on Monday, January 11, 2016. (The deadline for high school entries has passed.)

Letters About Literature invites students to “Read. Be inspired. Write back.” They pick a book that inspired them or changed their life and write back to the author (living or dead) about it. More information, including guidelines and a teaching guide, are available at www.wyominglibraries.org/read-be-inspired-write-back.html.

Please encourage your students or the tweens and younger teens you work with in your library to participate. Prizes will be awarded at both the state and national levels.

Letters About Literature is a project of the Center for the Book in the Library of Congress. The Wyoming State Library is coordinating Wyoming’s participation.
