Powell Library receives McMurry Grant

Oct 4, 2012

The Powell Branch Library has been awarded a $1,000 grant from the McMurry Library Endowment Fund held by the Wyoming Community Foundation. The grant will be used for Every Child Ready to Read, a parent education initiative to foster the development of early literacy skills in pre-school children.

The Wyoming Community Foundation is a statewide organization. They have awarded almost $24 million in grants to non-profit organizations since their inception twenty years ago. Its mission is to connect people who care with causes that matter to build a better Wyoming.

The Powell Children’s Department is enthusiastic about this terrific opportunity. This grant will enable the libraries in Park County to offer early literacy training to parents and adults who work with young children.
