Goshen County Library Director Cristine Braddy
On October 20, staff and patrons of the Goshen County Library (GCL) in Torrington celebrated their recent designation as Library Journal’s Best Small Library in America with a community gathering that included an official proclamation by Goshen County Commission Chair Michael McNamee, as well as cake and sparkling juice for toasting.
GCL Director Cristine Braddy thanked her family, the library’s staff, board, and foundation, the Wyoming State Library, and many others for their support and assistance in serving the people of Goshen County. She reflected on her childhood experiences at the Goshen County Library, which helps drive her work as the library’s director, and described the process by which the library met a substantial community need by providing children’s programming on Fridays after the Goshen County School District transitioned to a four-day week.
Community members Lee and Sue Miller kicked off the Goshen County Library’s new season of giving with a $5,000 donation, and a Giving Tree with leaves showing various amounts for library items such as a library book, a magazine subscription, a month of HVAC, and a Libby audiobook printed on them to encourage community giving to support the library.
Congratulations to the Goshen County Library on their accomplishment!
